Interview with Monica
Tell us a little bit about yourself
I’m Monica. I’m from NY, currently living in FL. I’m 28. I have played sports all my life and fell in love with fitness during middle school. I currently work out at the gym in my apartment complex (it’s a pretty great gym)! After losing 40+ pounds and falling even more in love with fitness during my weight loss journey, it is now my mission to help women feel confident in their skin and stop dieting forever!
When and why did you start working out?
I grew up playing sports year round but I started going to the gym separately when I was in 9th grade. It was actually how I coped with my parents getting a divorce. I would go on top of sports practices.
How did you first hear about Victorem?
I heard about Victorem through Amazon. I searched for resistance bands and Victorem looked like the best option!
Did you use resistance bands previously in your workouts? If yes, how was it?
I have used a ton of bands in the past but they always annoyed me because they would roll up and pinch my skin and get sweaty.
What was your first workout with Victorem bands?
My first workout with my Victorem Band included walking lunges, squats, and glute bridges
What’s your favorite exercise using the bands?
My favorite exercises with the Victorem Band are definitely glute bridges!
What changes did you notice when you started using resistance bands?
After using the Victorem Band for a few weeks I noticed my butt getting tighter and lifting more (my fiancé noticed too ;)!
What motivates you?
The feeling after a workout motivates me! I know I want an overall healthy life. I also just love fitness and improving my life in every area I can!
What would you say for someone just starting out using resistance bands?
My advice for someone just using resistance bands would be to definitely get the bands if you don’t want them rolling up on your legs and to experiment with them. There are so many exercises you can do with just a simple band! Also, get ready to feel the burn! Might want to do a few reps to get used to it until you’re used to the burn (a good burn)!
Fun facts about you that you haven’t told anyone
I’m currently taking an online coaching certification course to improve my fitness and coaching knowledge to be a better coach to my clients. Another fun fact is that I hate bacon. Yes, I am human... I just hate bacon!
