Interview with Andrew
Hi, Andrew! Tell us a little bit about yourself
My name is Andrew De Robles, Personal Training Director for LA Fitness, father and husband. I’ve been working out since the age of 5 as an athlete starting with basketball and following with football, track and cross country. I had been one of the youngest cross country coaches in the nation holding a head coach position for Pasadena high school for 3 years at the age of 18. I compete in spartan races and run marathons in my free time when I’m not at work.
When and why did you start working out?
I started with basketball, sports were big in my family, weight lifting came later when I wanted to increase speed and endurance in running for football and track. Once I started competing in the spartan race I begin lifting more seriously to improve strengths.
How did you first hear about Victorem?
As a fitness director, it’s my job to provide my trainers and my clients with extra equipment to ensure they have the best quality workouts. I looked around for multiple companies and you guys had best reviews from my standpoint of research.
Did you use resistance bands previously in your workouts? If yes, how was it?
I had some before, such as B force, and other companies I forgot of. They were good but not consistent in use.
What was your first workout with Victorem bands?
My first workouts were from home while I was on paternity leave, I didn’t have the chance to go to the gym while I was with my newborn daughter so I tried to do more workouts from home. My first day was a full body. Including lateral flys, curls, overhead press, overhead squats.
What’s your favorite exercise using the bands?
My favorite exercise would have to be resisted jumps with ball slams.
What changes did you notice when you started using resistance bands?
It helps with tricky ROM that doesn’t get target as much with weights, and I saw stronger reps with better form.
What motivates you?
My daughter, she is my push, my soul. I just want to lead as a good role model for her.
What would you say for someone just starting out using resistance bands?
It’s great for a starter in the gym and for advanced. I know personally, I can do more challenging workouts with 3 bands than most of the bodybuilders at my gym.
Fun facts about you that you haven’t told anyone
My favorite character is a tiger, and that’s why got me into advancing my jumping.
