Interview with Danielle

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

My name is Danielle Conner. I was born and raised in Austin, Texas where I still reside. I am a 36-year-old single mother of an awesome 8-year-old boy named Van. For the last 13 years or so I have worked as a personal trainer. Health and fitness are a passion of mine. 

 

When and why did you start working out?

I started working out at the age of 12. I would go to the gym with my dad and he would teach me how to lift with proper form. He was always so consistent and still is to this day. I've always looked up to my dad and wanted to make him proud. And therefore have continued to live an active lifestyle.


Did you use resistance bands previously in your workouts? If yes, how was it?

I have used resistance bands in the past and enjoyed the extra challenge they provided. However, the bands I used wore down quickly. 

 

What was your first workout with Victorem bands?

The first workout I performed with the Victorem bands was a leg workout that included many squat variations.

 

What’s your favorite exercise using the bands?

I'd have to say that my favorite exercise using the bands is squats. I love the challenge it provides!

 

What changes did you notice when you started using resistance bands?

I noticed that using the bands during my exercises really forced me to be present in the exercise and focus even harder on keeping proper form throughout the reps. It forces you to keep your body and mind engaged in the exercise.

 

What motivates you?

Every day I am motivated by my son. I must be the example for him. It is my goal to be a healthy example so that he has the knowledge to make healthy choices for himself as he grows. I am also motivated by my love for working out. It is something that I look forward to rather than being a daunting task.

 

What would you say to someone just starting out using resistance bands?

For someone just starting to use resistance bands, I would suggest starting with body weight exercises to ensure getting the form right and getting comfortable with how the bands feel. 

 

What's a fun fact about yourself that you haven’t told anyone?

A fun fact about me is that I LOVE to dance. I often dance to his hop for fun in my living room. Besides that, I have an insane appetite for chocolate!
