Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Tara Wellen, 29. I workout at Club Fitness in Collinsville, IL
I’m a single mom, trying to do it all. I have a full-time job, a part-time job and am a full-time mommy to a 3 year old. People ask what I do for fun when I don’t have Brody, my son. Answers is, I’m at the gym! I workout 5-7 days a week.
When and why did you start working out?
I started working out 3-5 times a week at age 24 ahead of my wedding. I really enjoyed boxing and running. I worked out throughout my pregnancy and had a healthy baby. I breastfed for a year and worked out throughout that journey as well. When I got divorced at 25, the gym became my outlet where I could let go of my stress and anxiety. I kicked it up a notch and began lifting heavy. I went through a rocking hard time in my life and the gym was there for me. Lifting and HIIT workouts are my outlet.
How did you first hear about Victorem?
I saw the bands on Amazon and read the reviews.
Did you use resistance bands previously in your workouts? If yes, how was it?
Yes, but they were rubber and rolled and wouldn’t stay put.
What was your first workout with Victorem bands?
I used them for my weighted bridges and RDLs.
What’s your favorite exercise using the bands?
Weighted bridges, side steps, and RDLs are a must with my bands.
What changes did you notice when you started using resistance bands (physically, or mentally).
My hip mobility for my side steps and my backside thanks to squats has increased tremendously.
What motivates you?
I get motivated by the videos from Instagram and anytime I see a new, fun workout that I haven’t tried.
What would you say to someone just starting out using resistance bands?
I actually let my friend borrow one and I came up with a workout for her. She said she wants a booty like mine, so I said here ya go, this will get you there.
Are there any fun facts about yourself that you haven’t told anyone?
I used to teach a dance fitness class before I had my son.
